Prosthetics significantly affect
post-operative health for amputees

Achieving the optimal fit for a prosthetic is a significant problem for patients, soldiers , and particularly with children. A long process of adaptation is necessary in order to confirm that the prosthetic is a match for the patient. As a result, pressure ulcers may develop at the site, causing significant disability and impacting quality of life.

21 Million Amputees

in the USA, doubling by 2050.

$12 Billion

and over is the estimated cost to American private & public insurance agencies.

Up to 55% Diabetics

who had a lower extremity amputation, will require amputation of the second leg within 2‐3 years.

85% Amputations

of lower limbs are preceded
by a foot ulcer.

The LimbAssure Solution

LimbAssure is an enhanced 3D scanning of an amputee's limb using multi-mode optical imaging and close-up interaction where the prosthetic will be attached. The detailed physical and skin health model of the limb improves fit, comfort and usability of the prosthetic while minimizing potential ulcer and pressure sore complications. The development of pressure ulcers can be prevented and the process of adaptation improved for many patients.

Prosthetic Timeline

Approximately it takes around 5 months for a user to get a new device, by using LimbAssure that time is cut significantly.

8 - 12 Weeks

When your incision line is FULLY healed and swelling is stable. The fitting process begins.

LimbAssure Healing Phase

Tracking skin and limb health to ensure limb is healthy for prosthetic.

3 Weeks

Custom cast of limb is taken, fit is confirmed and the final device is ready to be used.

LimbAssure Fitting phase

Reducing the time to get a properly fitted prosthetic, and adjusting the prosthetic to better handle the underlying tissue.

2 Weeks +

Work with a physical therapist to learn how to work the prosthesis.

LimbAssure Training Phase

By monitoring pressure areas, helps adjust the prosthetic to best provide proper biometric usage.
